It is mandatory that all toilets and other amenities for public use have braille and tactile signs.
For the visually impaired The Building Code of Australia (Clause D3.6) requires that Braille and Tactile signage be displayed on ALL sanitary facilities (other than private residences). Braille and Tactile signage is also required to indicate accessible routes, such as ramps or lifts for persons in wheelchairs. It is also required at non-accessible entries or lifts, to advise of accessible entries.
